APM Terminals Bahrain Empowers Youth with “LEAN FOR TEENS” Workshop
In celebration of International Youth Day, APM Terminals Bahrain proudly launched its inaugural “Lean for Teens” workshop on August 4th, offering a dynamic, hands-on learning experience for the teenage children of employees. The event welcomed participants aged 11 to 16, with 90% of attendees being Bahraini nationals, reflecting the company’s deep-rooted commitment to national development and local talent cultivation.
The workshop introduced young minds to the fundamentals of Lean thinking— a philosophy central to APM Terminals’ operational excellence. Through interactive activities and real-world problem-solving challenges, participants explored how small, smart changes can lead to meaningful improvements. These lessons mirror the continuous improvement mindset practiced daily by their parents at APM Terminals Bahrain, creating a powerful connection between professional values and personal growth.
This initiative aligns closely with Bahrain’s Vision 2030, which emphasizes youth empowerment, innovation, and sustainable development. By investing in young Bahrainis and equipping them with practical tools for critical thinking and collaboration, APM Terminals Bahrain is actively contributing to the Kingdom’s long-term goals of building a knowledge based economy and nurturing future leaders.
“Lean for Teens” also reflects APM Terminals Bahrain’s strong focus on employee engagement and family inclusion. By involving employees’ children in meaningful learning experiences, the company fosters a sense of pride, connection, and shared purpose among its workforce. It’s a testament to the belief that investing in employees means investing in their future.
“Our mission at APM Terminals goes beyond logistics. It’s about creating meaningful impact. By introducing Lean to the youth of Bahrain, we are not only sharing a core part of our operational culture but actively investing in the next generation of future leaders. 'Lean for Teens' reflects our deep commitment to national development, empowering young Bahrainis with the mindset and tools to drive innovation, collaboration, and progress across the Kingdom. “said Matthew Luckhurst, Managing Director of APM Terminals Bahrain.
