TERMPoint includes features such as a Dashboard showing the status of your appointments, Import Container Watch-list, and the possibility to schedule both Import and Export Appointments simultaneously. A number of features are highlighted below.
*Appointment availability is subject to change when terminal is closed, any changes will be communicated by the terminal accordingly via e-alerts.
Adding Driver Details
Assigning drivers to appointments will allow future trucker experience enhancements which will be communicated at a later date. The new Drivers tab will also allow you to view the truck driver and Safety Induction status to avoid turnaround at the Inbound gate.
- Driver is optional until 1 hour prior to the appointment slot start time.
- Driver can be changed until the end of the appointment slot.
- When merging appointments, if there are 2 different drivers associated with either appointment it will prompt you to select 1 driver to complete the merging of the appointment.
Yes, similar to a generic empty appointment creation you can create an appointment without a driver, but you MUST have a driver assigned to the appointment at least one (1) hour before the appointment window booked starts.
Yes, you can change the driver on any appointment at any time as long as it’s done BEFORE the driver reaches the Inbound OCR on McLester St. Once you are on the property you cannot edit the appointment at all which means the driver cannot be changed either.
This will prevent specific trouble tickets and potential dry runs.
Examples:
- Driver is suspended/banned or Sealink number not valid (by Sealink office or APMT)
- Driver arriving without a passed Safety Induction
Yes, appointment number is still required.
During the initial roll out on Monday 3/4, we will notify the driver they are not the driver assigned to the appt. We will allow them to proceed with their transaction. However, we encourage users to ensure the correct driver is assigned to avoid any delays at the gate in the future.
Missed Appointments
Confirmed appointments left unused and not canceled or rescheduled prevent other TERMPoint users (truckers) from getting appointments that they need and hinder the terminal planning strategy and container handling equipment deployment.
TERMPoint users can cancel or reschedule an appointment that they know they will not make by the end of the appointment window’s thirty (30) min tolerance:
- 06:00AM to 08:00AM appointment must be canceled by 08:30AM
- 08:00AM to 10:00AM appointment must be canceled by 10:30AM
- 10:00AM to 12:00PM appointment must be canceled by 12:30PM
- 12:00PM to 2:00PM appointment must be canceled by 2:30PM
- 2:00PM to 4:00PM appointment must be canceled by 4:00PM
Per NYTC Tariff, the rate per missed appt. will be $62.49 based on proposed NYTC tariff, effective 1-OCT-2021
APM Terminals is planning to bill missed import appointments by occurrence, monthly. An invoice containing details for each missed appointment like appointment & container number, date, the missed appointment window, etc. will be emailed to the email address registered to the account in the TERMPoint system that created the appointment that was missed. No holds or updates will be made to any specific containers for missed appointments.
Missed appointments will show at the top of your TERMPoint Dashboard and APM Terminals will notify any TERMPoint user that habitually misses import appointments.
APM Terminals plans to bill for missed import appointments regularly. However, we understand that there are extenuating circumstances like natural disasters/acts of God and early terminal closures where we may not bill for missed appointments. These situations will be handled accordingly, as necessary.
APM Terminals consistently monitors our inbound gate queue. We are aware of situations outside of our and the trucking community’s control, where there may delays in the port. During these instances APM Terminals already extends appointment window tolerances to ensure truckers do not get late arrival/missed appointment trouble tickets, so drivers will be able to proceed as normal without missing the appointment.
APM Terminals Elizabeth cannot speak on behalf of any other terminal, however, we are aware that some terminals will limit the amount of total appointments a trucking company can book per day if they habitually miss appointments. We reviewed this process and decided that although this may improve behavior with time, it can potentially lead to more cargo delays and charges as the appointment system user will not be able to secure the same amount of appointments that they are used to.
Please use this form to claim for no-show appointment invoices that you would like to dispute. Our team will review your no-show appointment claim and get back to you with additional details as soon as possible.
